Causes of hearing loss:

Your hearing loss may result from any damage in the ear.  It could be in the outer ear, middle ear or inner ear.  Your hearing loss in the outer and middle ear is known as conductive hearing loss and whereas the damage in the ear is sensorineural.

If there is damage in your outer ear, this occurs due to ear wax, auditory canal infections.  And if the problem is in the middle ear then it could be from inflammation, fluid behind the eardrum whereas in the ear problems generally occur due to the age.
