cosmetic surgery procedures

There are now a huge number of cosmetic procedures available. Since cosmetic surgery and dentistry first really came to the UK in the 1990s, the number of people wanting to have treatments has risen by enormous numbers. People’s attitudes to cosmetic surgery and dentistry have changed dramatically over the last twenty years thanks to media coverage and an improvement in safety standards. Some of the most famous cosmetic procedures are also the most popular. These include breast augmentation, tooth whitening, liposuction and rhinoplasty.

Cosmetic surgeons are often asked about breast enlargements but the key thing they have to make clear to all patients is that breast enlargements that look natural are the breasts that look the best. Breast enlargements that are too large for the frame of the patient look odd and can also cause damage to the rest of the body by putting unnecessary strain on the muscles of the neck and back. There is also always the chance that they will themselves begin to sag under the strain. Breast augmentation aims to restore confidence of women with small or unevenly shaped breasts and will do this most successfully in the long-term by providing them with well-formed and slightly larger breasts.

Tooth whitening is a cosmetic dentistry treatment that aims to make the colour of the teeth a more natural and healthy looking white colour by removing stains and bleaching discoloured areas. Treatments start at as little as £60 but can be very effective and produce the effect of a healthy and happy smile.

Liposuction involves using a suction-aided device to remove fatty deposits from the back, neck, thighs and stomach. Most all the fat will be removed as it is necessary to leave some to produce the natural curves of a figure. Liposuction is quite a serious procedure and will involve a stay overnight in the hospital or clinic.

Rhinoplasty is popular because it reshapes the nose. Being the most dominant feature of the face, the nose can make people very self-conscious if they are not happy with it. Cosmetic surgeons can remove tissue and reshape the bone structure of the nose to give it a more pleasant appearance.

There are many other cosmetic procedures that can improve you appearance. Make an appointment to find out more about the benefits of cosmetic surgery.
